Featuring a hotel, restaurant, and popular beer garden the Maple Garden, the Evergreen Brewery was a jewel in the Trommer's Brewing Company crown.

What killed off the ever expanding Trommer's enterprise was a trucker's strike in 1948. The strikers took over breweries throughout the city and in doing so killed many proprietary yeast strains. Trommer's never recovered and was forced to sell their brand name to the competition.
