Started by Irish immigrant brothers who knew nothing about brewing beer, Fortune Brothers grew to be one of Chicago's most popular brands. Like most regional brewers they were hit hard by the one-two punch of wartime shortages and national Prohibition. They soldiered on as a family business until 1948.
