During America’s first golden age of brewing San Francisco had an independent brewery in nearly every neighborhood across the city. 76 breweries served San Francisco in 1905. Broadway Brewing was one of the most popular. After surviving fires and earthquakes the brewery entered into consolidation with other local brands to cut costs but nothing could change the fate of nationwide prohibition.
