New York City was the capital city of American brewing in the late 19th and early 20th city. With ready access to water the beer was brewed in mass quantities in the first modern breweries and shipped by steamer and rail all across the eastern seaboard. New York Brewing Company was just one of dozens that competed to be "Best of the Boroughs."
